When a tool is missing, I build it – and publish it openly. The source code lives on GitHub in the bitsandfriends-germany organisation, together with a developer profile that bundles roles, focus areas and selected case studies.

Both applications run on Linux and are released under the MIT licence. The full source code is available.

A complete PDF editor for Linux: page operations, forms and annotations, digital signatures with PKCS#12 files and PKCS#11 smart cards (for example Estonian ID cards), encryption and optional AI assistance. The interface is React, the back-end process is Python with PyMuPDF, pikepdf and pyHanko.

"Etikett Studio" designs and prints labels for the Munbyn RW403B: templates, variables, QR and barcode support (Code 128, Code 39, EAN-13), PDF export and printing through CUPS. The application is self-contained – no web server and no open HTTP port; its parts talk over an internal pipe.
